I purchased and deployed two Dell PowerEdge servers into my home lab setup.

• Installed and configured ESXi 5.1 and 6.7U3 on PowerEdge servers.
• Configured pfSense firewall, ad-blocking DNS server, Snort and Suricata IDS/IPS, and Kali Linux on first PowerEdge to replace ISP-provided router.
• Second PowerEdge hosts Windows Server 2012 R2 to host local Active Directory forest, multiple instances of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11), and multiple Linux instances (Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE, and Kali), and a Kubernetes cluster.
• Raspberry Pi hosts IoT management and monitoring.
• Unraid server hosts NAS, Docker server, and Nessus server.
• Cisco Layer 2 switch controls VLANs to separate home computers, Wi-Fi, IoT devices, and lab servers.
